We had customers that wanted to replace the existing front deck over in Flushing, Michigan. The original front porch had no railings and the visual appearance of it does not have their home stand out as they would like it to be. Upon working on this deck project, the design for the new deck will have high-quality Brazilian cherry color decking and skirting. We also decided to incorporate white regal railings to give their deck a more aesthetic appeal.
After completing this project, now the homeowners have a beautifully designed and constructed front entry porch that enhances their home’s curb appeal with a durable deck and sturdy railings.
Working with in building codes and restrictions are sometimes difficult. This customer had existing non-conforming deck that needed to be removed and replaced. Due to current building restrictions we could not tear down more than 75% of the original deck. Our expert design consultants were able to find the solutions to the problems during the 1st visit. So we took off all existing decking and handrails. Added support posts and beams up to code. Current floor joists were 2' on center so we added a floor joist between each of the existing joists making the entire deck joist layout now 12" on center. We then resurfaced the deck and added new handrail to complete the project.
We removed the existing deck and vinyl handrail. We then installed new dura life composite decking.
